Area of Parallelograms
Math Area of Parallelograms
2
Area Area is in square units.
For example, if you measured in inches your units would be square inches or in². If you measured in feet, your units would be square feet or ft².
3
Area of Parallelogram The base is any side of a parallelogram.
The height is the length of the segment perpendicular to the base with endpoints on opposite sides.
4
Area of Parallelogram You can find the area of a parallelogram by using the values for the base and height. The area A of a parallelogram equals the product of its base b and height h. A = bh
5
Common Error When finding the area of a parallelogram, be sure to use the base and the height, not the base and side.
6
Find the area of the parallelogram.
7
Find the area of the parallelogram
8
Find the area of each parallelogram. Round to the nearest tenth.
b = 7 in., h = 4 in. b = 9 m, h = 1.5 m b = 1.25 cm, h = 2 cm rectangle: l = 16mm, w = 12 mm square: s = 27 ft rectangle: l = 65 mi, w = 48 mi square: s = 42 m
