2. The Y11 mock dates Monday 30 th Nov. Additional science exam. HW group C2, HD group B2. Monday 30 th afterschool, 2.45 -3.45pm. Whole science revision class. Thurs 3 rd December. Additional exam, HD group C2 exam, HW group P2. Thurs 3 rd December. Core science exam, EP group B1, Miss Tate group C1. There are also other opportunities for revision in science Wednesday 25 th after school, but please ask your science teacher about this. First actual GCSE exam is Mid May 2016.

3. Effective revision…. How? Where? What resources are available? Where can I find resources?

4. How to organise revision? Where? A revision timetable… Short term Longer term Break it into small bits 30 minutes at a time! Take a break between Do not forget other subjects Find somewhere QUIET ! No Music, no distractions!

5. Techniques… This is down to what suits the individual. Some ideas are…. Mindmaps, helps make connections between different subjects and topics. Revision posters Post it notes with keypoints. Flashcards Read it, hide it, write it, check it. Answering past paper questions. Generally just reading notes is not a good technique.

12. Other apps…. Search google play and many free apps appear. Some that I found are; 1.Revision buddies (in all subjects!) 2.CGP test and learn lite 3.Aqa core science (by learners box) There are many many more…..

They need a username (usually first initial then surname, a password and Institution code = LHL8

14. The AQA website…… your link to past papers. Your course provider is AQA. Core = GCSE science A 4405 unit ones eg C1, B1, P1 Additional = GCSE Additional science 4408 unit twos eg C2, B2, P2 Further additional = 4410 www.aqa.org.uk In GOOGLE just type “aqa science past”. Remember, check MARK SCHEMES (see what examiners want!)

15. Coursework. An opportunity to get 25% of the GCSE marks. Your class will likely be off timetable for a day to do this. You MUST ATTEND!!! If you do not, it leaves you disadvantaged. Follow all teacher guidance and DO REVISE what you are told to at this time.

16. In Summary… Plan your revision (timetables, timings, each subject) Vary your revision methods (apps, websites, revision guides, PAST PAPERS!) Attend any extra revision sessions available to you. Seek help on things you do not understand. Check mark schemes so you know what the examiners are looking for! Attend for coursework sessions and give 100% !!
