5 October 26, 2015 Learning Goal: Participants will be able to show student success by using a scale using individual communication modes for an academic activity. I TA Professional Development Day Standards: Domain 1: Providing clear leaning goals and scales (rubrics) Domain 2: Use of available technology. Domain 3: Evaluating the effectiveness of individual lessons and units. Objective: Participant will be able to use a scale with students of all levels of cognitive ability to achieve grade level success. Essential Question: How do you utilize a scale for students with cognitive disorders of varying severity. Vocabulary: Scale, cognitive ability, communication modes Agenda I DO WE DO YOU DO

9 Academic scales are based on Webb’s Depth of Knowledge. Level One (Recall) Level Two ( Skill/Concept) Level Three (Strategic Thinking) Level Four (Extended Thinking)

11 Small Group Activity You will break into small groups and make scales for two academic subjects (ELA and Math) for two different grade levels. You will then present the scales to the group. Any questions or you need help please ask.
