Question 2 Question 2 What is Peter asking you to do? 1 Peter 1:13-16

Staying on the Alert Question 2 1 Peter 1:13 [Be Holy] Therefore with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at His coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.

Staying on the Alert Question 2 Jesus tells us in John 10:10 that the enemy has come to steal, kill, destroy, but He Himself came to bring life and life abundantly.

Question 3 Question 3 Read 1 Thessalonians 5 and then describe in your own words what the Father, through Paul, is telling you/warning you/asking you to do as you walk in this world, waiting for His return.

Staying on the Alert Question 3 1 Thessalonians 5: For you are all sons of light and sons of day: We do not belong either to the night or to darkness. New Orleans An unholy spirit can never make us holy in all our conduct and manners of living.

Question 4 Question 4 List what you need to do personally to live a holy life in an unholy world?

Staying on the Alert Question 4 Thank the Lord for His love, peace, and His presence in your life to correct you if needed. Make a confession and repentance of your sins and forgive others. Make yourselves available to God for ministry opportunities as He would lead you. Pray daily without hesitation when someone pops in your head from past/present. They may need prayer now.

Staying on the Alert Question 4 You and I live by breathing. Our physical lives require that we inhale and exhale. The air we breathe sustains our bodies. In the same way, our spiritual lives are designed by our Father to be nurtured and sustained by prayer. Stay away from worldly sin/actions/thoughts. 1 Thess 5:18-22, 1 Cor 9:27

Staying on the Alert Question 4 Last but not least, bind those harassing spirits! Jezebel Spirit: 4 Steps 1. Pride 2. Rebellion 3. Deception 4. Perversion Bitterness Depression Fear Jealousy Rebellion Control Addictions Infirmities Transferred Spirits

Question 5 Question 5 How do you overcome in this world? Revelation 12:11, Proverbs 12:6, 1 John 4:4

Staying on the Alert Question 5 Know your tool box! The label is “Scriptures to battle the enemy” Romans 12:21 1 John 5:4 To overcome the world, you need to know Jesus, who He is and what He wants to do for you in this world.

Staying on the Alert Question 5 The enemy will use gossip to destroy family values, friendships. Those words you speak can be death or life. Proverbs 18:21 – Death and Life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 16:12 – It is an abomination (to God) and man for kings to commit wickedness, for a throng is established and made secure by righteousness. Moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation.

Staying on the Alert Question 5 Luke 11:24-26 – 24 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ 25 And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. 26 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

Staying on the Alert Question 5 Matthew 7:5 - Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Before you can help anyone, you must address your own problems. How? Through His Word

Staying on the Alert Question 5 In Jesus, each one of us is unique, not in a worldly way. In His unique spiritual way, that only God’s children can know through His word only. As His Holy Spirit works through us. Do not be doers of the world, but overcomers of the world by doing the word. (James 1:22, 1 John 5:4)

Staying on the Alert Question 5 Ephesians 6:12 - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. We can never win our battle, if we fight against the wrong source in a wrong way. We tend to think that people or circumstances are our problem, but the source of many of our troubles is satan and his demons. We can not fight him with carnal, natural weapons, but only with supernatural weapons that God gives us for the destruction of satan’s strongholds in our lives.

Staying on the Alert Question 5 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 - 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Question 6 Question 6 What is your reward for overcoming? Revelation 3:11-12

Staying on the Alert Question 6 Revelation 3:11-12- 11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
