3. Purpose
To expose children of the different types of weather that can occur daily and around the world.
To expose children of the four seasons.
Can be used as a morning routine.

A is for Autumn
Autumn is the season between Summer and Winter.
Also known as Fall.
Colder temperatures!
Leaves change colors and fall from the trees.

6. B is for Blizzard A blizzard is a very heavy snowstorm. High winds!
Very cold!

7. C is for Cloudy When it is cloudy there are many clouds in the sky.
Gray colored sky.
NO sunshine!

8. D is for Dew Dew are tiny drops of water that form on cool surfaces.
Dew can be found on grass, cars, windows, etc.
Wet!

9. E is for Earth
Earth is the planet we live on.

10. F is for Fog Fog are clouds that are close to Earth’s surface.
Hard to see roads, buildings, trees, etc.
Dense fog, heavy fog, patchy fog, thick fog.

11. G is for Gust of wind Gust of wind is a strong or sudden rush of wind.
Speed of wind is fast!

12. H is for Hot The temperature is HOT! Usually hot in the Summer.
We use the air conditioner or go swimming when it is hot.

13. I is for Ice
Ice is frozen water.
Icicles form in Winter.
Cold!

Jet stream is a band of air that moves around the world.
High and low pressure air.
Cold and warm air.

15. K is for Kite flying
You can fly a kite when it is windy outside.

16. L is for Lightning Lightning is flashes of light in the sky.
Usually happens when there is a thunderstorm.
Dangerous!

17. M is for Meteorologist A Meteorologist is an expert in weather.
They predict the weather.

18. N is for Natural disaster

Natural disaster is an event caused by nature.
Some examples:
Floods, Volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes, Earthquakes, Wildfires, Blizzards

19. O is for Overcast Overcast means when the sky is covered with clouds.
NO sunshine!
Gloomy outside!

20. P is for Partly cloudy
Partly cloudy means when the sky has some clouds and some sun.

21. Q is for earthQuake
earthQuake is when Earth’s ground shakes!

22. R is for Rain
Rain is drops of water from the clouds.
WET!

A thunderstorm is a storm with thunder and lightning.

An umbrella is used for protection from the sun and rain.

26. V is for Volcano
A volcano is a mountain that has HOT lava on the inside.

Winter is the season after Autumn and before Spring.
The weather is cold!

X-bands are used in weather radars to help meteorologist forecast the weather.
Radar is a piece of weather equipment that can find clouds and precipitation.

29. Y is for Year A year has 365 days!

A year has 365 days!
During the year, we have four seasons: Autumn, Spring, Summer, Winter.
During the year, we have 12 months.
During the year, we have seven days in a week.

30. Z is for climatic Zone The planet Earth is divided into climate zones.
Climate can include temperature, precipitation, and wind.
