Outcomes Collection – Current Status Number of outcomes tools in use – variable across ADPs and services (none in some cases) Drug & Alcohol Treatment Waiting Times Database (DATWTD) – to inform LDP Standard - strong compliance but no outcomes data Scottish Drugs Misuse Database (SDMD) – compliance issues – drugs only – no longer regarded as fit for purpose Drug & Alcohol Information System (DAISy) – under development – to go live late 2016 – will incorporate ROW tool measures

ROW Tool - Benefits Service Users (SUs) - see progress and supports increased motivation, ownership of their recovery journey Staff – holistic, motivational approach, agreed in collaboration with SUs Managers - supports monitoring and evaluation, and identifies staff workforce development (WFD) needs ADPs/Commissioners/SG/Grant bodies – informs strategic WFD and planning, design and delivery of services (and interventions)

ROW Tool – Development & Validation Draft tool developed along with x2 Service User scenarios with scoring guidance Validation by Interrelated Reliability –Peer Review - 16 frontline staff across 9 drug and alcohol services scored both scenarios (Nov ‘14) –Consistent scoring –Guidance for ROW tool strengthened and re- tested with 12 frontline staff across 10 services (Jan ‘15) –Improved consistency scoring

For Consideration Will your ADP area/ service use the ROW tool? –If not, is there alternative tool(s) in place locally? Need to be mindful of compliance with full DAISy dataset –If yes, what are the timescales for local implementation? How many tools required? Special Offer –Dec. ‘15 – Apr. ‘16 – free ROW tool training (via SDF WFD Team/ SG/ ISD) available –excel recording tool available via ISD (with support) –SG offering free printing on hard copy ROW tools
