3 Types of Furniture There are many different types of furniture such as sofas, chairs, beds, etc. Within each type, there are many styles. As an Interior Designer, you must be familiar with the types and styles of furniture available to your clients. What is the oldest piece of furniture in your home? What are its special features? Does the furniture evoke certain feelings?

An upholstered sofa in the shape of a chair that is long enough to support the legs. Long reclining chair

7 Types of Furniture A settee is a bench style seating, usually with arms and a high back, long enough to accommodate three or four sitters. Tuxedo style chairs are simple, masculine, sleek and angular.

8 Ottoman Chair A piece of furniture consisting of a padded, upholstered seat or bench having neither back nor arms, often used as a stool or footstool, or in some cases as an improvised coffee table.
