High School GPA vs Bright Futures GPA Unweighted high school GPA calculates every high school credit attempted. Weighted high school GPA calculates every high school credit attempted with extra points for honors, AP and DE courses. Bright Futures GPA is weighted. However, only core academics and foreign language courses factor into the Bright Futures GPA. Bright Futures GPA and High School GPA are rarely the same. Unweighted high school GPA calculates every high school credit attempted. Weighted high school GPA calculates every high school credit attempted with extra points for honors, AP and DE courses.
