2  Sugar › Sugar Cane, which is grown in the Tropics. › Sugar Beets, which are grown in temperate zones. Compressed Carbon Dioxide Water

3  Combine the Sugar, Baking Soda, Water, and Corn Syrup in a pot over Medium/High heat. Add the Citric Acid Crystals.

4  Then, heat the mixture to 300 degrees F, and add the flavoring of your choice.

5  Take the mixture out of the pot and allow it to cool on a plate, a silicone baking sheet that has been dusted with corn starch or powdered sugar, or a pan of some sort. Let it cool in small dollops, or in a thin sheet.

6  Once the mixture is cooled, and hardened. Smash it into small pieces.

7  Eat the candy, the sugar dissolves and the citric acid and baking soda combines, releasing CO2, and producing a fizzy sensation.
