Muscles Contract (short) Extend (long)
4
Building Muscle Must break down 1 st Rebuild
5
Activity 2 Today at each fitness station, see how many times and how long you can keep moving.
6
Joints flex.
7
Aerobic Capacity (AC) I can maintain continuous activity for a specified time using oxygen.
8
HEART Why does my heart beat faster during exercise? What is aerobic capacity? How does AC help my body?
9
Take a breath Muscles use and need oxygen.
10
AC Aerobic Capacity is your body’s ability to use oxygen during activity.
11
1 st 5 Jumping Jacks = 60 seconds Jump Tucks = 30 seconds Skiers = 30 seconds Burpees = 30 seconds Run/Jog/Walk = 150 seconds
12
AC and ME Aerobic Capacity- (AC) ability of your heart and lungs to use oxygen Muscle Endurance (ME)- how long can you exercise?
13
O-2 Me-2 The oxygen tag game. 600+ muscles need 0-2 Once you are tagged by carbon dioxide, freeze and get 5 breaths. The blue dot is the oxygen station.
14
1.Aerobic Capacity 3.Muscle Endurance

Activity 2 At today’s stations: the dome run will be a great test to measure effort and AC. Your bodies will be require more oxygen during activity. The faster you go, the more oxygen you will need (V-02). As soon as you slow down or stop: Pass the Baton.

Talk Test Example

Why Faster? During exercise, your heart naturally beats faster to supply more oxygen-rich blood to your muscles. The more TIME and EFFORT you give (strong and fast), the faster your heart rate, as well as your respiration (Breathing). Get T.E.F.! 17
