Why I Love Brazil Brazil is a second home to me! I lived in Fortaleza, CE Brazil from 1997- 1998. I speak fluent Portuguese. I still visit my Brazilian family whenever I can. In many ways, my heart is more Brazilian than it is American

Why your student will love Brazil… The people are incredible. The food is amazing. Language immersion is an important part of the DCIS experience. They will participate in life changing and important service opportunity. Brazilian tourist destinations are some of the most famous in the world.

Where will we stay? For part of our stay, we’ll be atSanta Semente Guest HouseSanta Semente Guest House The other days will be spent in local hostels and guest houses with separate accommodations for males and females. Students will be in dormitory style accommodations.

What kind of documentation do I need? ALL students traveling to Brazil need a US passport that will have to be sent to the Brazilian consulate in Houston and processed in order to get a Brazilian tourist visa. More information will be provided, but you can visit the US Passport website or A1 Passport and Visa for more specifics about requirements.US PassportA1 Passport and Visa

How much will it cost? $3,500 + spending money (not included) + documentation fees ($200 - not included) This can be paid in any increments up until May 1 st 2016. An initial payment of $150 to hold your spot will be due October 21 st. Remember, the current exchange rate is 1 dollar = 3.95$BR Two meals per day, lodging, transportation and excursions are included.

What financial assistance is available? DCIS Foundation offers scholarships to applicants in good academic standing. Fundraising opportunities will be happening all year long. Students can raise money on their own through via babysitting, shoveling snow, selling food/snacks etc.

Questions? What questions do you have? What are next steps? Please RSVP to the October 21 st meeting – your $150 deposit will need to be paid on or before this date. Please look into Visa/Passport requirements to make sure you have the necessary documents easily accessible. We will hold a night at DCIS for gathering all documentation.
