4 The Classic Period The Classic Period of Mayan culture occurred between 300 – 900 AD. The ruins of Mayan buildings found today date back to this period.

5 Mayan Buildings In the jungles of Mexico and Guatemala, the Mayans built pyramids and temples.

6 The Buildings were Colorful Archeologists have studied the insides of some chambers and have discovered the walls were originally painted bright colors.
