RECCE First Pass - Aim for 40 to 50 km/h - Driver calls out notes - Focus on the basics! Left, Right, Grade, distances - Include easy and obvious features Build Consistency First - Mark the steering wheel - Keep it simple at first - Be accurate with what you say

RECCE Second Pass - Aim for 50 to 60 km/h - Don’t be tempted to ‘test’ the notes - Co-driver reads back - Make corrections and add detail on this pass - Co-driver adds ‘recovery points’ to notes - Note stage character and important features

RECCE What makes up Pace Notes - Directions: left or right - Grades: 1 tight to 6 open - Connectors: and, into, 30, etc. - Placement modifiers: Keep Left, Keep In - Other modifiers: Slippy, Ruf, ! - Use your own terms, but be consistent - Use single syllable when possible - Be concise - Be deliberate about the order of information
