AIMS Site Test Coordinator Responsible for –Correct administration of testing at school site –Providing test training for all test administrators –Organizing, distributing, and collecting all test materials –Keeping Cindy Hurley apprised of any testing issues that arise 4

Site Test Coordinator must establish and enforce test security procedures that comply with the Test Security Agreement and the State Board of Education Rules All school personnel who will have access to the AIMS or Stanford 10 test materials must sign a Test Security Agreement Security agreements are to be filed for 6 years at the school site The Principal’s security agreement is brought to Cindy Hurley at time of material Check-In Test Security 5

SCHOOL PACKING LIST: As soon as receive materials, open Box 1 (white) Verify that the materials as shown on the packing list are enough to cover your needs Email any shortages to Cindy by Feb. 12 4 PM (W & R) Apr. 2 Noon (M, Sci, Stan) When individual packages are opened, confirm the number of actual documents or books Note any discrepancies on the packing list. Discrepancies - Package had 6 test books 6 8

Inventorying Test Materials Maintain an accurate inventory of all materials and some kind of check-in and check-out system Test books and answer documents are to be stored in a secure location at all times – not in classrooms overnight 9

10 AIMS HS Form T Can only be used for the Make-Up Test Dates for Writing, Reading, and Mathematics As soon as you know how many make-ups you will need, email Cindy with your counts. No guessing. First come first serve T-forms can not be ordered from Pearson … we have what we have

11 Regular Test Date Vs. Make-up ›Students and parents need to understand there is ONE test date. ›Make-up day is not an option day… it is a day for someone who truly was sick or had an emergency ›Do no advertise the make-up dates and push for everyone to test on the 1 st testing date ›If there are not enough tests for make-ups you will need to prioritize: #1 10 th graders (for accountability) #2 12 th graders who have not passed #3 11 th graders who have not passed #4 Meets to Exceeds for Tuition Waiver for those who signed-up #5 For other Meets to Exceeds

COHORTS Student’s cohort is used to determine if a student is eligible to test on AIMS HS. CohortGrade 20169 TH Grade Freshman 201510 th Grade Sophomore 201411 th Grade Junior 2013 and below12 th Grade Senior or 5 year + Senior 13

HS Students to be Tested Writing, Reading, Mathematics Are expected to participate in Spring 2013 administration Cohort 2015 (Generally 10 th Grade Students) Not yet earned a “Meets the Standard” are expected to test in specific content area Cohort 2014 (Generally 11 th Grade Students ) Cohort 2013 and below (Generally 12 th Grade Students ) Move from “Meets the Standard” to “Exceeds the Standard” Cohort 2014 (Generally 11 th Grade Students – for tuition waiver) Cohort 2013 and below (Generally 12 th Grade Students – does not count for tuition waiver) 14

HS Students to be Tested Science May be taken by students who are enrolled in a life science course. Cohort 2016 (Generally 9 th Grade Students) Must be taken by all students who did not test on AIMS Science in Spring 2012. Cohort 2015 (Generally 10 th Grade Students) Not required to pass the science test in order to graduate from high school 15

Other Students that May Test ›Home School ›Private School ›Completer Students Also, must mark the not enrolled bubble on back of answer document Do Not Fill in the SAIS Box, instead under Student ID grid, fill in their home phone number, 520-###-#### It is the responsibility of the school to send student reports or notify parents of the not enrolled student. 17

PREPARE TEST ROOMS All other visual aids displayed in the testing room that could assist students while testing must be removed or covered completely. 22

Authorized Resources to be Available –Dictionaries and thesauri must be available for the prompt section of the AIMS Writing tests –These resources are not permitted during any other testing session –Translation dictionaries must be available for ELLs and FEP year 1and 2 23

Cell Phones ›Cell phones are not permitted, even during stretch breaks. ›Students must remove and be told to remove cell phones from their person ›Back packs should be placed in front of room and not by student desk ›It is against testing protocol to use a cell phone during testing and if breached, student test is subject to invalidattion ›Only Cindy per ADE can determine if a test will be invalidated 24

All students must be allowed to continue to test Test Administrators who observe students using unacceptable resources are to remove the unacceptable resources as soon as possible After testing is completed, Cindy Hurley must be notified to determine if an incident report needs to be submitted 25

VERIFY NUMBER OF MATERIALS RECEIVED Test Administrator should count number of test books and answer documents received. When Test Administrator returns materials, Test Coordinator should verify number of test books and answer documents that have been returned. DISRUPTIVE STUDENTS Whenever possible, the disruptive or misbehaving student should be moved to another location Students must be allowed to continue to test Incident Report must be submitted to ADE for any cheating incident 29

Universal Accommodations ›Universal test administration conditions that are in a student’s IEP or 504 are not considered testing accommodations so do not need to be marked in Box K of the answer document ›May be offered to any student in order to provide a comfortable and distraction-free testing environment 34

Standard Accommodations Standard accommodations are available to: –Students with certain injuries –English Language Learners –FEP Year 1 and Year 2 students –Students with an IEP or 504 plan 36

As Students Finish Testing Students are to remain quiet until the end of the testing session Students may read or do class work silently while waiting for the scheduled test session to end Electronic devices may not be used during this time 46
