7 RECAP 2013 – 2014 HIGHLIGHTS A-rated school since Silver Shores opened its doors in 2002 to 2013 Mrs. Star Rosario, 2013-2014 Broward County Teacher of the Year Finalist 2nd Annual Enrichment Cluster Extravaganza State Representative Manny Diaz and Superintendent Runcie provided Silver Shores with an A+ School of Excellence Flag, which proudly flies above our school on the flagpole Human Peace Sign to commemorate Choose Peace Week (the entire school created a life-size Peace Sign on our playing fields that was captured by 3 major television networks via helicopter and aired on local news)

8 RECAP 2013 – 2014 HIGHLIGHTS 4th Grade partnership with Cornell University’s Department of Ornithology (STEM Initiative) Fully-functional Recycling Program (created by a 3rd grade student - STEM Initiative) Variety of produce and herbs from our Silver Shores Organic Garden (STEM Initiative) Whole-School participation in the Hour of Code (STEM Initiative), which taught computer coding to all students. Ari Ozder, NBC6 Education News Correspondent, highlighted Silver Shores, specifically Mrs. Bagiotti’s 4 th Grade Class’ participation, on the 6:00pm news (which aired June 2 nd, 2014).

Ballot) Safety and security – safer schools, single points of entry, etc. Music and Arts – new instruments, staging equipment, etc. Athletics – updated fields, new equipment, etc. Renovations – new roofs, facilities upgrades, etc. Technology – ALL schools will receive funding for upgrades
