3. A monitor is an electronic visual display for computers. The monitor displays the video and graphics information generated by the computer through the video card. Monitors are very similar to televisions but display information at a much higher quality.

4. Monitors come in two major types – CRT and LCD. CRT (cathode –ray tube) monitors look much like traditional televisions and are very deep in size. They are usually bulky and heavy. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitors are energy efficient, compact thin and lightweight while offering equivalent, if not better, graphics quality. LCD monitor have a longer life-span, less heat output and save on space.
