About Iron The name of this element is Iron It’s symbol is ‘Fe’ It’s atomic number is 26 It’s atomic mass is 58 It’s made of metal

History Of The Discovery Iron was one of the earliest elements on Earth. It is the most common element in the whole planet Earth, forming much of Earth's outer and inner core, and it is the fourth most common element in the Earth's crust. It is unknown who and where iron was discovered because it is very old.

Use 1, Building Iron is useful in our society today because iron is used in building things like highways, railroads and bridges. (etc.…..) When we are building something most of the time iron will be used in the process.

Use 2, Tools Iron is useful in our society today because iron is used in everyday tools. When you look at most of the machines used presently, you will see iron in almost all of them.

Use 3, Transportation Iron is useful in our society today because iron is used in everyday transportation. How do you get around? You probably use a car. Cars, planes, boats and trains all have iron in them.
