Four Seasons By: Kristen Youngblood

What the project is about: There are four seasons that occur every year and each season has different weather patterns The four seasons are: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter By the end of the lesson, students will know which months fall under certain seasons and be able to identify which type of storms occur during each season

Essential Question: Can the weather stay the same and never change throughout the entire year?

Unit Questions: Do you wear the same type of clothes in the summer as you do in the winter? Why does the weatherman have a job? Can you build a snowman in July?

What part of TEKS is fulfilled? TEKS-2 nd Grade (Section 113.4, Social Studies: 7A) 2.7 The student knows that many types of change occur 2.7b Identify, predict, and test uses of heat to cause change, Including melting and evaporation 2.7d Observe, measure, and record changes in weather, the night sky, and seasons.

Activities 1) Children will create a safety plan for their home to use in case of emergencies. 2) Children will get into groups and discuss if they were ever in any hazardous weather conditions with their families, what happened, and how that made them feel 3) Children will draw and color a picture of their favorite season, including the activity they enjoy doing the most during that season
