Common Questions Q:What if I cannot afford a dress? A: Some contestants have gotten dresses from Ebay, Salvation Army, yard sales etc. Additionally, some school staff have sponsored worthy candidates in the past. Q: Will the winner of the fundraiser be the overall winner? A: Not necessarily, the contestant who performs best overall will win. Generally, if a contestant can place high in two or more categories, they has the best chance of winning. Q: When can I start my Community Champion campaign? A: It is a good idea to get leads as soon as you commit to participate but officially you can begin your campaign as soon as you receive your acceptance packet as a contestant and pay the entry fee. Q: Why is there a $25 entry fee? A: The fees pay for the t-shirts, certificates and other expenses. Q:If my child does not win a spot in the talent showcase, do they still have a chance? A: Yes. The contestant who accumulates the most points will be the winner. It will depend on how each contestant performs in all of the categories. Q: Should we continue if we cannot win? A: Of course! You wouldn’t quit in the middle of a sporting event even if it is unlikely you will win. This is no different. Enjoy the experience. Don’t let winning be the primary goal. There is so much to gain regardless of how you place if you have the right attitude.
