A falling star flies before my eyes. I make a wish as it goes by. The darkness creeps But it’s time to sleep. I say “ Goodnight “ to the sky.

19. Theme: the purpose of the poem. What the poet needed to say. e.g. Five little monkeys went to play. Out in the park one sunny day. When Uncle Baboon said, “ On your way!” All the little monkeys said, “ Can we stay?” So uncle baboon said, “ Oh, okay! I do like to see my monkeys play”
