2 voluntary Done or given because you want to and not because you are forced to – The cerebrum is the thinking part of the brain and it controls your voluntary muscles. – Choosing to shoot a basketball or draw a picture

3 Abstract Relating to or involving general ideas or qualities rather than specific people, objects or actions – Scientists think that the right half helps you think about abstract things like music, colors, shapes. – Think of something you can’t touch: love, hope, joy

4 Logic A particular way of thinking about something – I had to use logic to solve my math problem – Logic is what it is. There is no arguing. It is based on facts. 2 + 2 = 4

5 Reason The power of the mind to hink and understand in a logical way – The cerebrum helps you to reason and figure out the best solution to a problem. It is better to do your homework now because your mom will take you to a movie later

6 Upright Positioned to be straight up – The cerebellum helps you to stand upright and keep your balance. – To stand up straight and tall; have good posture

7 Function The job or duty of a person – The function of the brain stem is to connect the rest of the brain to the spinal cord.

8 Digest The process by which food is changed to a simpler form after it is eaten

9 Involuntary Not done by choice – The brain controls all our involuntary movements. – Think of all the things you do without thinking! – Blinking, breathing, dreaming
