3. 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. ‘Temptation’ = peirasmos (  ς) means more than an enticement to sin, it means a trial, a test.

14. Spirit and Word Rom 15.13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Rev 19.15. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. Heb. 4.12. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

16. The basis of the victory Col. 2.15 Having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross Rev.12 10,11. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

17. Paul’s last command 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
