Why do we need a new CSN/ATM system? Steady increase of traffic Increasing delays Increasing service costs Increasing operating costs In summary: A global transparent efficient ATM system is needed to replace the present Air Navigation System.

What is the new CNS/ATM system ? “Satellite based?” ADS B, C : ATN : VDL Mode 2, 3, 4 : Voice versus Data-link: Automation etc. However, it is not only about technology CNS/ATM is also a concept

The new CNS/ATM c oncept : enables airlines to enjoy: Safe Operation On Time Performance provides required capacity for at least next two decades accommodates requested routes by the introduction of new technology and operational procedures.
