Vertebral artery: subject to trauma and spondylotic compression. End distribution is that of the PICA Lateral medullary syndrome / Wallenberg syndrome: Nystagmus, oscillopsia, vertigo, nausea, vomiting Contralateral impairment of pain and temperature sensibility Ipsilateral Horner’s syndrome Hoarseness, dysphagia, ipsilateral palatal paralysis Ipsilateral ataxia and numbness Basilar artery: Multiple syndromes Paralysis and /or weakness or all four extremities Diplopia, INO, dyscongugate gaze, nystagmus Blindness possible Cerebellar ataxia Coma
