3 Purpose for today Continue to develop a shared understanding of what high quality interactions between teachers and students look like. Develop a shared understanding of the language and instructional needs of EL students based on writing. Begin to develop an understanding of the key tasks of instructional leadrship. Participate in sessions where effective learning environments are being modeled. Engage in culturally responsive and relevant pedagogy that addresses El and SEL students.

8 Based on your learning, describe what high quality interactions between students and teachers look like that create critical thinkers and learners in Mathematics? How will we develop a common understanding of what these interactions look like? –Think –Quick write –Pair, share –Table talk

9 Tasks of Leadership After reading the School Leadership Rubrics introduction page, discuss what these tasks have to do with fundamentally improving the interactions between teachers and students in mathematics.

10 Today’s Learning As you participate in today’s teaching and learning, reflect on your understanding of the Superintendent’s Charge as well as the instructional leadership and distributed leadership necessary to fundamentally improve instruction. Additionally, consider how we will identify and meet the needs of EL learners throughout today’s learning.

11 Michael Fullan It is about learning to learn, about becoming independent thinkers and learners. It is about problem solving, teamwork, knowledge of the world, adaptability, and comfort in a global system of technologies, conflict and complexity. It is about the joy of learning and the pleasure and productivity of using one’s learning in all facets of work and life.
