4 NORWEGIAN CENTRE FOR ICT IN EDUCATION The evidence base  Comprised of two topics (digital games and digital competency) and two target groups (policy and practice)  No more than approx. 10 question for each topic and target group, i.e. less than 40 questions in total  The end-user should then be able to get an good overview of the content by browsing – we could use a structure much like a traditional FAQ  It should be very easy for the end-user to reach relevant evidence 4

6 NORWEGIAN CENTRE FOR ICT IN EDUCATION Features & Functionality  Navigation Simple and clear navigation opportunities All sections should be accessible from the main page The main page should be accessible from all pages Navigation between ”levels” – a breadcrumb menu  Search Modest volume of information, no need for very sophisticated search mechanisms Platform search: Free-text spanning the whole site Evidence Base search: Free-text and keywords  Admin / Editor “Classical” functionality like add / edit / delete pages, sections, menu items etc. User management. 6

7 NORWEGIAN CENTRE FOR ICT IN EDUCATION User Comments, Ratings, and Sharing? Should users have the opportunity to send new questions to the project? Should we add a ”Share this!”-button to the answer-pages, enabling users to share the information using social media? Should we provide opportunities for commenting on answers in the evidence base? If so, should we require users to log in to the site before submitting comments? This would require resources for site maintenance! Should we provide functionality for user ratings of answers? This could be a button labeled “I found this answer useful”. Should we add a “most read” box to the main page, listing / linking the most viewed answers? Should we add a “latest” box to the main page, listing / linking the newest questions & answers? 7

8 NORWEGIAN CENTRE FOR ICT IN EDUCATION Additional sections / services?  Should we add a section providing links to other knowledge brokerage platforms and web sites with related information? Requires maintenance!  Should we include a section similar to “Mythbusters” with research evidence related to conventional myths? Such a section would probably mean an extension of the scope of the project.  Should we include a section similar to “Pass it on!”, with stories about innovative approaches? Such a section would probably also mean an extension of the scope of the project. 8
