HOUSE MUSIC THURS 19 TH SEPTEMBER

WHAT IS IT? A MUSIC COMPETITION WHERE STUDENTS COMPETE FOR HOUSE POINTS THERE WILL BE DIFFERENT CATEGORIES AND DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS LESSONS WILL BE SUSPENDED ON THIS DAY FOR YEARS 6-10. DIPLOMA STUDENTS WILL ATTEND LESSONS IN THE MORNING UNLESS THEY ARE COMPETING. THEY WILL JOIN THEIR HOUSE IN THE AFTERNOON.

CATEGORIES 3 Age Groups Years 6/7/8, Years 9/10, Years 11/12 3 Categories – Piano, Instrumental, Vocal

HOUSE SONG In the Afternoon, each house will present a song The more harmonies, costumes, choreography etc that each house can put into their performance, the better. Each house will need to provide a backing track

TIMINGS OF DAY 8.25 HOMEROOM - 9.00 –PIANO COMPETITION 9.45 – JUDGES FEEDBACK AND PRIZES AWARDED 10.00 INSTRUMENTAL COMPETITION 10.45- JUDGES FEEDBACK AND PRIZES AWARDED 11-11.30 BREAK 11.30 VOCAL COMPETITION 12.30 JUDGES FEEDBACK AND PRIZES AWARDED 1.00 LUNCH 2.PM SINGING BEGINS 3pm FINAL MARKS, JUDGES COMMENTS, CUP AWARDED

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO You will need to get your competitors sorted out for the solo categories Please provide an understudy for each category (often useful to have extra performers on the day anyway to play when judges are conferring) PICK YOUR SONG !!!! Make a rehearsal schedule for your choir rehearsals

WHIP UP LOTS OF ENTHUSIASM House banners, colours, supporters etc are all needed to really encourage a great day of Battling it out! GOOD LUCK!
