Educational activities on RES and EE in MEBP schools 11 Capacity Development Results: In total, during 2011-2014, a total of 352 schools and close to 19,000 pupils throughout Moldova took part in educational activities dedicated to renewables and energy efficiency; 225 schools outside the MEBP with over 13,000 pupils of 7th and 8th grades joined the educational initiative; During 2011-2014, three Bioenergy Camps have been organized joining together 272 students from 127 schools Educational activities on RES and EE (under sub-comp. 3.4) Total 2011- 2014 1. Implementation of the educational initiative on RES and EE in MEBP schools (no. of schools covered)127 1.1. Additional schools outside of MEBP that adhered to the Ed. Initiative225 2. Organization of Educational activities on RES and EE with children (no. of children)5947 2.1. Additional number of children that joined the Ed. Initiative13010 3. Organization of Summer Camps for RES and EE champions from MEBP schools (no. of children)272 4. Training of teachers on principles and methods of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Education (no. of trained teachers)187 Moldova Energy and Biomass Project

Outstanding results: Following the endorsement of the Ministry of Education, the subject “Renewable Energy Sources” has been introduced in the list of optional courses for 5 th to 9 th grade students Institutionalization of the training module on renewable energy sources, biomass, and energy efficiency for district and local authorities by the Academy of Public Administration (110 local leaders already trained) Based on the Bioenergy Camps implemented by MEBP, the Continuous Education Institute and Gutta Club developed a guide-regulation on organizing thematic summer camps in the field of renewables and energy efficiency. It will serve as a tool for other institutions and projects that will wish to organize similar thematic summer camps in the future, including beyond the lifetime of the Moldova Energy and Biomass Project Capacity Development 12 Moldova Energy and Biomass Project
