Students will be given a template of a Face book page. Students will have to create a face book page of a world political leader of their choice.

Your essay lacks details! Not enough details! Give more examples! How do you fix this problem when you write? 1. Show me sentences. Begin with a basic topic. 2. Topic(basic topic) The kids help weed the garden. Create specific details about topic. Create a visual image for reader. 3. Create a paragraph or brief essay that SHOWS rather then tells. The sentence is the springboard for lively writing.

NOW YOU WILL HAVE A SILENT CONVERSATION ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED. This activity will be completed in silence. All communication is done in writing. Make comments or ask questions in the silent conversation. You may not talk at all during this activity, so whatever questions you have ask now for clarification. Talking results in you sitting down and receiving a “0” for class participation grade. 2 people can write on the BIG paper at a time. Gallery Walk.. You will be able to walk around and read each other’s comments and questions.

On the BIG paper, write a type of government. Then tell and advantage and a disadvantage on the government you chose.

You and your group will be given a government to create a literacy skit. Use your notes on “Types of Governments” to help you with you skit. Each person in the group must participate. It will be up to the rest of the class to determine which government you are acting out. We must be able to figure out what government you are portraying. This is a class participation grade. EVERYONE MUST PARTICIPATE!

One hot Saturday morning, the kids offered to help weed the overgrown garden next to the garage. Michael bravely pulled up thistles by the roots once he realized that their sharp, spiny stems were smooth just above the ground. Meanwhile, his younger sister Becca headed off to do battle with some weed giants. Her plan was to whack at them with a V-headed hoe. Before long, the head of the very old hoe broke clean off. She just kept swinging with the long wooden handle. Grunts and groans accompanied her whacking as she took aim at the monster thistles towering over her.
