2. Exodus 3:13-14 Exo 3:13 But Moses replied, "When I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your ancestors sent me to you,' they will ask me, 'What is his name?' So what can I tell them?" Exo 3:14 Exo 3:14 God said, "I am who I am. You must tell them: 'The one who is called I AM has sent me to you.'

3. Jesus claims to be “I AM” The Jews knew the significance of this name. They held this name in high esteem. When Jesus began using this name for himself, they knew that Jesus was in effect claiming to be the one. John 8:58 "I am telling you the truth," Jesus replied. "Before Abraham was born, 'I Am'."

4. The Power of the Name So powerful is this name, that when Jesus spoke it, the power of God came upon people. John 18:4 Jesus knew everything that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward and asked them, "Who is it you are looking for?" John 18:5 "Jesus of Nazareth," they answered. "I am he," he said. Judas, the traitor, was standing there with them. John 18:6 When Jesus said to them, "I am he," they moved back and fell to the ground.

5. Jesus used the name 7 times in the gospel of John I am the BREAD OF LIFE. (John 6:35) I am the LIGHT OF THE WORLD. (John 8:12) I am the DOOR/GATE. (John 10:7) I am the GOOD SHEPHERD. (John 10:11) I am the RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. (John 11:25) I am the WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. (John 14:6) I am the TRUE VINE. (John 15:1)
