Amoebas, Actinopods, and Foraminiferans Use pseudopodia (cellular extensions) to sometimes feed and for movement Most are heterotrophs Some are symbiotic Not much known about their phylogeny

Rhizopods (Amoebas) Unicellular Use pseudopodia for movement and to feed Reproduce asexually through different forms of cell division Live in freshwater, salt water, and soil

Actinopods (Heliozoans and Radiolarians) Use a slender version of pseudopodia called axopodia Most Heliozoans live in fresh water Most Radiolarians live in salt water heliozoan radiolarian

Foraminiferans Almost all marine Named for their porous shells Pseudopodia extend through pores Pseudopodia help with swimming, shell formation, and feeding
