Kapušany castle 13th century – to protect kings road going from Prešov to north 1312 - the castle was destroyed in battle and was rebuilt in 1410 - Andrej Kappy Under the threat of Turks the castle was strenghtened and got new weaponry 1/2 of 18th century – Telekessy – castle burned in 1709 In 1712 it was „rebuilt“ but in 1715 it was pulled down

15. Spiš castle 13th century-Mongols attack-need to build more castles 1/3 13th c. – main tower in middle – ½ 13th c. – romanesque palace + castle chapel + massive walls 1241 – resisted against Mongols, nevertheless they fortified its walls

Ľubovňa castle Guarding castle, guarding roads to Poland 1st mention → 1311 1432 – 1451 castle was damaged by Husits 1553 → nearly destroyed by fire Afterwards → renovation (added some elements of renaissance) Residence to mayors of backup cities of Poland/Spiš until 1772 Since 1772 → used as barracks, later as a warehouse
