2 HITSP – enabling healthcare interoperability NHIN Forum April 30 – May 2, 2008 - Dallas, Texas –>300 attendees –Launch of SLHIE activities –Updates on HISPC –HITSP Panel –Cross project education opportunity for states to understand the NHIN goals and status, as well as impact of HISPC findings –Expectation is for convergence around NHIN standards, e.g., HITSP

3 HITSP – enabling healthcare interoperability NHIN Core Services Specifications Review HITSP invited to review and comment on preliminary/draft specifications Voluntary review by members, although some TCs may organize review sessions at discretion of co-chairs Do not align 1-1 with the ISs –Core services technical and security concepts per Gartner report from first NHIN activity, define minimum functions of the NHIN –Content specifications only address data elements common to 2 or more use cases, unique elements to be surfaced by Perspective WGs Simplified comment tracking system set up, specs available for download –http://members.ansi.org/sites/hitsp/Lists/NHIN%20Specification%20Rev iew%20Comments/AllItems.aspx Internal Review Board to manage process due to WG workloads
