An organism is anything that carries out all functions of life such as reproduction, obtaining energy, growth. i. For example a Chihuahua is an organism

All the organisms of that have similar characteristics and can breed ( reproduce ) with one another are considered to be the same species. i. Chihuahuas are a member of the species Canis lupus ii. All species are given a scientific name which is made up of two Latin words. It is usually written in italics.
