5 5 EERE SBIR Web Presence Today EERE SBIR The historical EE SBIR web site is difficult to find and is at http://www1.eere.energy.gov/office_eere/oe_sbir.html. It is a single page without even jumps between paragraph. In your terminology it is an “article” page with lots of “downloads.” We would like to work with you on standardizing our format for this page including the addition of standard elements and the links to the Tech Offices. http://www1.eere.energy.gov/office_eere/oe_sbir.html The new EE SBIR web site has a much simpler URL, http://energy.gov/eere/sbir, but it points to a set of pages focused on first time applicant s especially women and minorities. Perhaps this would be a better URL for the overall site. In your terminology I think it is a “page” page with lots of “downloads.” This set of pages is unlikely to require article pages. http://energy.gov/eere/sbir EERE Cleantech SBIR

8 8 Success Story Distribution: Current Sites Getting started with distribution to sites by: 1.Dynamically feeding successes in the right-hand column via a standard template element. 2.Promoting individual stories on pages within each site: In the form of a link in specific content. Via your rotating photo slideshows. 3.Creating office-level successes collections in the "About" section of sites with a top-level left navigation label of "Success Stories." 4.Exploring the success story RSS feed for sites that aren't connected to the news and events database.

17 17 Communication Standards Tip We’ve reorganized the Communication Standards site to make it easier to use! This was the end result of user testing we did in FY13. Many of you helped us with that! We: Looked at issues users were having finding content on Communication Standards. Considered major changes that had happened in the last year (like the creation of the Product Governance Team.) Created a new draft navigation. Conducted Treejack testing with EERE staff and contractors to identify any pain points and issues with the new navigation. Revised the navigation based on these findings.

18 18 Communication Standards Tip Here are some of the updates we made: “Publications, Exhibits, and Logos” has been combined with “Exhibits.” All of these products now go through the Product Governance Team’s review and approval process. In one section, they can all share the same the same QA and process pages. The Web Governance Team pages have been moved to Websites > “Web Governance, Roles, and Responsibilities” to parallel the PGT section in the new Publications section. Some reorganization in the “Websites” section to reduce the items in the left navigation. New pages: Archiving Websites Web Governance Team
