Getting the Best Footage
2
There is a great deal of work needed to get the right shot.
3
Camera Movements Pan: side to side, horizontal Tilt: up and down, vertical Zoom: change the focus of the camera, using the T/W switch Pedestal: raise the height of the tripod
4
Camera Movements Cant: tilt sideways Dolly: camera moves toward/away subject Arc: camera moves in a semi-circle Truck: camera moves with subject
5
Keep the Camera Steady Use a tripod whenever possible. Be sure the tripod is level. If you shoulder the camera, keep your arms close to the body. Walk slowly. If moving with a subject, walk backwards.
6
Specialized camera mounts are used for trick shots and unusual locations.
7
Remember! Always shoot a scene more than once, using a variety of camera angles. That way you have choices when you edit and have options, in case of problems.
