Panamanian Flag This flag was adopted on December 20, 1903, and was designed by Panama's revolutionary leader and first President, Manuel Amador Guerrero. The white in the flag represents peace, the blue star stands for purity and honesty (and the Conservative party), and the red star symbolizes authority and law (and the Liberal party).

On Easter all the main streets are closed off for as all Panamanians cover the streets for parades and festivities.

The city was founded on August 15, 1519 by Pedro Arias de Avila.

The city has numerous tourist attractions including world-class hotels and restaurants. Particularly interesting for tourists are various sites located in the old quarter (also commonly referred to as "Casco Viejo." Casco Viejo

-Spanish is the official language but most Panamanians speak English fluently.
-Like all Latin American countries, Panama is predominantly Catholic but other denomination are found throughout the country. -Panama is a constitutional republic. Executive power is held by the President assisted by two Vice-Presidents and an appointed Cabinet of ministers. The Judicial Branch is composed of a Supreme Court of Justice with nine judges appointed for 10 years terms; five superior courts, and three courts of appeal. The Legislative Branch is unicameral; the President and the legislator are elected through popular vote every 5 years.

The country's most famous attraction is, of course, the Panama Canal
The country's most famous attraction is, of course, the Panama Canal. There are several superb tourism activities that can be easily reached from Panama City. There are five golf courses in or near the city and beach areas. Dining is excellent in Panama City, and there are numerous bars, discos and cafes. Evening entertainment may include live music, movies (in English with Spanish subtitles) or dancing.
