Scavenger Hunt K C Period 2

Exoskeleton Organisms, such as this snail, have an exoskeleton, or tough external skeleton/covering that protects and supports their bodies.

Mixture My Ipod takes a dive into this Koolaid, which is a mixture of powder, sugar, and water.

Parasite The flea is a common parasite that lives on their host (cat, dog, etc) as an ectoparasite (outside the organism). It is provided a food supply and shelter, while its host recieves no benift.

Vascular Plant This tall oak tree grows tall, allowing its constantly working, and vast vascular system to transport water, sugar, and salt throughout the plant.

Perenial Perenial plants, such as this Rose Bush, complete their life cycle over the course of several years (3+ seasons).

Heterotroph This Grasshopper, along with many other organisms, are considered heterotrophs due to the fact that they cant produce their own food, and must consume other organic matter for food and energy source. Grasshoppers will typically go in search of plants as their meal.

Autotroph This plant produces its own food source through photosynthesis, and therefore do not have to consume other organisms as a food and energy source.

Bilateral Symmetry This frog have whats known as bilateral symmetry, meaning that its body has two equal, symmetrical halves. The left and right sides of its body are positioned in a way that, if possible, were folded down the center hot dog style, they would line up and match exactly.

Simple Leaf These leaves, such as the maple, are classified as simple leaves because they consist of only one leaf, and never divide at the leaf stalk.

Organism This is my dog Cuervo, who happens to be an organism. He has a body made of organs, organelles, and other parts that work together to carry on the various processes of life (grow, reproduce, etc.), thereby classifying him as an organism.
