2.  A SMART board is a combination of a simple white board and a computer.  It is touch controlled and works with a computer and a projector.  A SMART board can be used to take notes, brainstorm ideas, save notes, practice problems, show presentations, and much more.

3.  The first SMART board was introduced in 1991by SMART technologies.  It was the first interactive white board to provide touch control of computer applications  The SMART board started off slow due to slow modems, slow processors, and Microsoft Windows software that was unstable.
