Allows for portions of the quotient (answer) to be solved
Must add each partial quotient together to get the final quotient (answer)
Use an easy factor such as 10 to help

Multiply the divisor by ten and subtract from the dividend.
Make sure to write what operation you did so you do not forget!
Continue to do the above steps until you can not use the same factor or until the difference is less than the divisor.
