4 Our Naturalists The naturalists taught us about rocks. There were four naturalists and we divided our class into four groups. Mr. Jameson Mr. Szczygiel Mr. Perigo Ms. Caldwell

5 Mr. Szczygiel Mr. Szczygiel let us feel rocks on the bus. He can break really big rocks. He let us walk on a special hilly path to the gravel pit.

6 Mr. Jameson Mr. Jameson is so powerful he can smash sandstone into little pieces. Mr. Jameson is really nice.

7 Ms. Caldwell Ms. Caldwell helped us tell one rock from another. She could tell if there was a fossil in a rock or not. She was super nice. She helped us dig out rocks.

8 Mr. Perigo Mr. Perigo had big tools. He knew the names of all the rocks. He let us slide down a big rock.

13 Searching for Fossils We’re off to see a gray fossilized rock.

19 Mr. Szczygiel break a big rock. Stand back so you don’t get hit by chips of rock.

21 I wish I could take this granite home. I want this rock with little crystals.

22 There were THOUSANDS of fossils in this rock!
