2. Why use a Parentheses? ( )
Parentheses are used to enclose ( ) words or figures that add further clarification to writing. Parentheses can be used to set off words, phrases, clauses, or even full sentences when more explanation or translation is needed.

When using parentheses with other punctuation marks, punctuate the main part of the sentence as if the ( ) were not there. 
A punctuation mark comes after the second parenthesis if the punctuation is for the whole sentence and not just the part in ( ).
Even though she had a record of tickets (two parking and 2 speeding), she planned to appeal the judge’s decision.
Anna earned her degree from an accredited institution (the one that advertises on TV often).
