How to do a Work Cited entry

2. Basic format for a book
“For most books, arrange the information into three units, each followed by a period and one space: the author’s name; the title and subtitle, underlined [or italicized]; and the place of publication, the publisher and the date” (Hacker 131).

3. Use this format:
Author’s last name, First name. Title of Book. Place of publication: Publisher, year.

5. Format of a Work Cited list
The title, Work(s) Cited, should be centered above the entries
The entries should be in alphabetical order, based on the first word in the entry (usually the author’s last name).
Follow punctuation rules exactly.
