From January 2008 to date the ICD, Eastern Cape Office working closely with the SAPS Provincial Office, conducted DVA Audits on 64 out of the 197 stations. The stations are rated according to the following criteria, contained in the DVA Monitoring Tool: 0-49% - non-compliant 50% - 79% - Fairly compliant 80%-99% - Substantially compliant 100% - Fully compliant. 15. ESTABLISHMENT OF SATELLITE OFFICES The ICD has realized as early as the year 2005 the need for the establishment of Satellite Offices in order to extend its services to the most needy communities in South Africa. In the Eastern Cape potential Satellite Office locations have been identified as Mthatha, Port Elizabeth and Queenstown. These locations were decided upon as a result of the high number of complaints that were received in these areas. So far, because of budgetary constrains, only one office has been established and it is in Mthatha. This office was opened in May 2007 and officially launched in September 2007. It is servicing the former Transkei area which in itself is very huge and consists of 43 policing areas.
