8 Public Outreach Billboard Campaign Campaign Goals: Focus on Public Outreach Inspired by other professional organizations Raise public awareness as to what a Civil Engineer does and the impacts Civil Engineering has on the general welfare of the public Schedule/Funding: $1,500 SPAG Grant Spring 2011 Campaign Cost of $5,000 Second $5,000 campaign in 2011, despite not having a SPAG Grant. 9 Billboard Campaign Continued Lessons Learned: Finish billboard design prior to contract with Billboard Company Establish a metric for measuring effectiveness Utilize Board Members/Section Members to “Spot Check” locations Key Points: Involve as many board members as possible Communication The task is too big for one person
