Habitat Prefers habitats near seacoasts, rivers, lakes, and other large bodies of water

Diet and Reproduction They are carnivores and they eat fish, rabbits, hares, raccoons, muskrats, beavers, deer fawns, grebes, alcids, ducks, gulls, coots, egrets, and geese They have internal reproduction and have oviparity They do take care of their young and have a lifetime mate unless one dies

Human Impact The use of DDT made adult eagles have a calcium deficiency that made their eggs too brittle We lessened our use of DDT and the population has since risen They have been removed from the endangered/threatened list
