4 Piloting Process Teachers pilot for two quarters. Each teacher communicates on a regular basis with a partner who pilots the other publisher. All piloting teachers come together periodically, calibrate their numbers, and hand in individual scores.

6 Side-by-side Standards Sampling A standards sampling was performed.

9 Side-by-side Standards Sampling A rubric and scoring sheet was developed using input from both the Science adoption Toolkit and Math Adoption Toolkit. The texts from the two publishers were evaluated comparatively in a side-by-side manner. Content and assessment were the two categories evaluated.
