3. Causes of Cultural Change Many forces can change how people live and thus change their culture – New technology – Environmental changes – New ideas- developed within a group or through exposure to another group’s ideas (cultural diffusion) 3

4. Cultural Diffusion The movement of customs, traditions, or ideas from one place to another Can occur through trade, migration, communication, and force Causes changes in culture 4
