4. Daniel: “…made up his mind that he would not defile himself…” (Daniel 1:8)
Ezra: “…set his heart to study the law of the LORD and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel.” (Ezra 7:10)

5. The gospel teaches us to cultivate like spiritual fixedness; firmness of purpose.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,…” (Matthew 5:6)
“Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two.” (5:41)
“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness…” (6:31)
