Hitchhiker Program - Hitchhiker carrier system 1 The Hitchhiker carrier system was modular and expandable in accordance with payload requirements. This flexibility allowed maximum efficiency in utilizing orbiter resources and increased the potential for early manifesting on the shuttle. https://store.theartofservice.com/the-carrier-system-toolkit.html
3
Hitchhiker Program - Hitchhiker carrier system 1 There were two types of carrier systems— the Hitchhiker Side-Mount Carrier System and the Hitchhiker Cross-Bay Bridge Carrier System. Either system could accept the Hitchhiker canister and the mounting plates. https://store.theartofservice.com/the-carrier-system-toolkit.html
4
Hitchhiker Program - Hitchhiker carrier system 1 The Hitchhiker Side-Mount Carrier System used a GAS Adapter Beam for all equipment. The beam attached to the orbiter frame. The side-mount carrier was usually installed in the forward starboard side of the payload bay, although other configurations and locations were possible. This carrier could hold up to three experiments and the Hitchhiker avionics box, which connected the power, data and signal from the shuttle to the experiments. https://store.theartofservice.com/the-carrier-system-toolkit.html

Load coil - Carrier systems 1 The coils had to be removed to pass higher frequencies, but the coil cases provided convenient places for repeaters of digital T-carrier systems, which could then transmit a 1.5 Mbit/s signal that distance https://store.theartofservice.com/the-carrier-system-toolkit.html

Digital Access Carrier System 1 'Digital Access Carrier System' (DACS) is the name used by British Telecom (BT Group plc) in the United Kingdom for a 0+2 Pair gain system. https://store.theartofservice.com/the-carrier-system-toolkit.html
7
Digital Access Carrier System - How did WB900 work? 1 Before DACS, WB900 (a 1 + 1 analogue carrier system) was used. The first subscriber's phone (called the 'audio customer') would be connected as normal. The second subscriber (called the 'carrier customer') would have his phone calls modulated on to an RF carrier or Carrier wave on the same physical phone line at around 40kHz - high enough not to be noticeable to the audio customer. https://store.theartofservice.com/the-carrier-system-toolkit.html

Split sound system - Split sound vs intercarrier system 1 *In split sound system a high power diplexer is used at the output of the RF amplifiers. Such diplexers are expensive and bulky. In intercarrier system where the combining is achieved at a low level stage no diplexer is used. https://store.theartofservice.com/the-carrier-system-toolkit.html

Split sound system - Split sound vs intercarrier system 1 *Whereas in intercarrier system RF amplifiers are common for both the visual and aural signals, in split sound system visual and aural transmitters have separate RF amplifiers. Thus, all else being equal, the power consumption of the split sound system is more than that of the intercarrier system. https://store.theartofservice.com/the-carrier-system-toolkit.html
10
Split sound system - Split sound vs intercarrier system 1 *In intercarrier system the two IF signals may interfere with each other to produce Interference (communication)|interference products out of the operating channel. In order to protect the neighbouring channels a notch filter is used. In split sound no interference products appear at the output, so no filter is needed. https://store.theartofservice.com/the-carrier-system-toolkit.html
